TED HOPKINS
Ted Hopkins was born at Melyncrythan. At the height of his career he was billed as Wales's foremost comedian. He worked in Music Hall extensivly with his sister May and, sometimes, with his brothers Will and Dick. Some of Ted's work was recorded and produced on 78 records.Ted was involved with the Welsh National Theatre movement of 1914 and devoted a great deal of his energy and time to the Welsh Drama League, formed in 1917.
Ted is a project currently under development. My research has, so far, enabled me to provide a mini biography for the Music Hall Guild of Great Britain and America web site and I am assisting with a commemorative project to remember Ted at a chapel at his burial place.
